Thai massage uses direct pressure on muscles and energy points throughout the body with a combination of stretching to further stimulate the muscular-skeletal system which
includes joints, bones, nerves, ligament and the lymphatic system. It is an ancient tool employed to combat common ailments, increase the effectiveness of movement of the body and benefit physiological systems. Thai massage also results in longevity due to a strengthening of the body's immune system. It may be able to relieve pain, sprains and inflammation of muscles, tendons, joints, as well as reduce stiffness of joints, increase muscle strength and improve mobility. Thai massage is used as a means to stimulate paralyzed muscles to help improve circulation and function and to maintain muscle strength. For the mind, Thai massage offers the most renowned effect of total relaxation, thus reducing stress of daily tasks or a hectic environment.
In the privacy of our garden courtyard we offer a Sunset Couples Massage at 5:00 p.m., and a Starlight Couples Massage at 6:15 p.m. These are performed out of doors with gentle tropical breezes, soothing music, and illuminated by the sensuous glow of tiki torches.
Hot Stone Therapy
In stone therapy, different sized and shaped stones are heated or cooled to manipulate musculature and
connective tissues. Hot stone therapy incorporates volcanic basalt stones heated to 130 degrees, while cold stone therapy utilizes marble stones cooled to 22 degrees. Hot stone therapy promotes deep relaxation and restoration, but also goes far deeper by benefiting the primary systems of the body, by increasing the rate and amplitude of the vascular system, sedating the central nervous system, promoting lymph drainage and detoxification of cells, helping to reduce stress, increasing circulation and improving the body's immune system.. Cold stone therapy reduces inflammation and fine veins and is especially beneficial for those that suffer from sinus problems.
Reflexology
Reflexology is known to be more than 4000 years old, with historical accounts of its use in Egypt and China. It is at "the very core of our being"--that is, in our feet. The aim of reflexology is to correct three negative factors involved in the disease process: congestion, inflammation, and tension. Reflexology seeks to improve the body's circulation and assist the body in speeding up the elimination of toxins. Reflexology stimulates the release of endorphins, the body's natural painkillers.

Frequently Asked Questions
·~What's the difference between an Aromatherapy Oil Massage and Deep Tissue Massage?
An Aromatherapy Oil Massage is an Asian relation of Swedish massage. It involves smooth, relaxing strokes to stimulate the circulatory system. Deep tissue massage involves slower, firmer pressure to break up knots, tightness, tension and release of lactic acid.
~What is Hot Stone Therapy?
The use of materials of different temperatures on the body to bring about natural healing is an ancient technique. Although hot stones have been used for centuries as a complement to body work, their use was formalised in 1993 with the development of a form of massage using a system of smooth, basalt stones of various sizes and shapes. After each muscle group has been made pliable with the hands, the hot stones are incorporated into the massage adding the elements of heat and weight for ultimate relaxation. It is ideal to relieve anxiety and stress and the build up of lactic acid in tight, overworked muscles. We offer a 60 and 90 minute session; the 60 minute massages only the back of the legs, the back, and shoulders. The 90 minute session is a full-body massage, continuing on to include the arms, hands, front of the legs and concluding with a heavenly foot massage.
~What is Thai Massage?
Thai Massage is an accupressure session along energy lines. The treatment is
performed on a shiatsu mat as opposed to a massage table. You remain fully clothed and the treatment does not utilise massage oil. The treatment applies firm pressure, directly on fascia of muscle tissue to oxygenate and make muscies more pliable. Our practice of Thai Massage was learned at the Thai Massage School of Chiang Mai, Thailand which is accredited by the Kingdom of Thailand. Therefore, our therapist is recognised by the Kingdom of Thailand as a Practitioner of Thai Massage. It has been referred to as "lazy man's yoga." As it involves a great deal of stretching, it is ideal for those that have a measure of flexibility. Thai Massage is not designed to address specific areas of aches or pain; this would be more appropriately addressed with a deep tissue massage.
~What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a science which deals with the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands which correspond to all of the glands, organs and parts of the body. Stimulating these reflexes properly can help many health problems in a natural way of preventative maintenance. Reflexology is a serious advance in the health field, though practiced by the Egyptians as early as 2330 B.C.
~Will you come to my hotel?
Generally, no. We pride ourselves in providing a total spa experience, and a considerable amount of that "spa experience" is the atmosphere we have painstakingly created. We find that most rooms/villas in hotels/resorts are not conducive to adding a massage table (or two!!!). Additionally, the cost involved in our transporting massage table(s) and supplies really makes it cost-prohibitive as we'd need to pass along the extra cost of labor to the client. However, if you're visiting with a number of friends that would like to book several massages in succession and you have the space to accomodate two massage tables, we'd be happy to consider it. You're welcome to contact us by phone or email to discuss.
~Will I need to remove all my clothes?
You are welcome to wear whatever you are most comfortable with; bathing suit bottom, underwear bottom, or nothing at all. Your modesty will be preserved at all times. Only the area that we are massaging will be uncovered.

~Is there a minimum age for a treatment?
We will gladly provide a facial to a minor 12 years of age and older, and a massage to a minor 14 years of age and older.
~I'm a guy and am considering a facial. Do I need to shave first?
Shaving is recommended at least 2 hours prior as we cannot effectively provide an effective and thorough facial treatment where there is facial hair.
~What is your cancellation policy?
If you are unable for whatever reason to honor your appointment, we ask that you please cancel 24 hours prior. We do not currently ask for a deposit as we believe the majority of our guests are trustworthy.
~Do you offer Gift Certificates?
Absolutely. You are welcome to choose a dollar amount or a specific treatment.
~Where do you get your spa supplies from?
Most all our product is purchased through Universal Companies, one of the best salon suppliers in the United States. While we like the idea of using natural ingredients, such as sea algae and papaya, you can never tell what reaction your skin will have to natural enzymes. You can feel confident while on holiday that it is very unlikely to have a reaction to any of our products that meet quality standards of a day spa you would patronize where you live.
